Submit Your Abstract

You are invited to submit an abstract for the 1st African Congress of Medical Excellence in Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine—MEIDAM Africa, to be held on 2 – 3 May 2025, at the Four Seasons, Rabat, Morocco.

  • Abstract submission opens on 15th January 2025
  • Final Call for Submission on 15th February 2025
  • Closing Submission on 28th February 2025
  • Notification of acceptance / Rejection – 15th March 2025
  • Language: All abstracts must be submitted in English using the online submission form on the MEIDAM Congress website.

A) All MEIDAM Association Members & Non-Members are welcome to submit your abstracts in any area related to the combined specialty of Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine. Original research studies will be preferable for Oral Abstracts.

B) The presenters can be Medical Students, Residents, Trainees, Board Certified dermatologist or a Post Graduation degree equivalent etc.

C) Presents may submit their Abstracts of their latest research on the following topics:

  • Inflammatory Skin Diseases/Conditions
  • Infections Reemergence’s
  • Lasers and Energy-Based Devices
  • Nail Disorders
  • Pediatric Dermatology
  • Pigmentary Disorders (Melasma, Vitiligo, Hyperpigmentation, Hypopigmentation, Photodamage, etc.)
  • Skin Cancer
  • Sexually Transmitted Diseases
  • Neglected Tropical Diseases
  • Surgical Dermatology
  • Tele dermatology
  • Skin and nutritional deficiencies
  • Hair disorders
  • Therapeutics
  • Injectables
  • Aesthetic Dermatology
  • Cosmeceuticals
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Dermatology

D) Presenters may submit their recent research observations in clinical studies, recent advances, their impact on dermatology practice, innovations & future directions.

E) POSTER PRESENTERS can present new ideas and original observations of scientific information for any of the above-listed topics utilizing narrative material, photographs, charts, diagrams, etc.

1. Original research and Case Series / Reports about Dermatology & Aesthetic Medicine will be prioritized for acceptance.

2. Abstract Authors may provide consent (approved by all co- authors) for their Accepted Abstract to be filed/recorded by the conference to be made available for use in dissemination as educational content on any MEIDAM association platform deemed necessary by the committee and Board members.

3. The abstract text body is limited Approx. 500 words including spaces.

4. Enter the Title using ‘Sentence case’ and should be brief and self-explanatory. The title should be as brief as possible but long enough to clearly indicate the nature of the study.

5. Original research Abstract Submissions should include the following: :

  • Background
  • Aims & Objectives
  • Clearly state the purpose of the abstract.
  • Methods
  • Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects clearly.
    Results
  • Present your results in a logical sequence in text, table and illustrations.
  • Conclusions
  • Emphasize new and important aspects of the study (perhaps as a discussion section) and the conclusions that are drawn from them.

6. Case reports and Case series should include the below structure:

  • Introduction
  • Case report/series
  • Discussion

7. All abbreviations must be defined in first use. Abstracts are required for all presentations.

8. No identifying features such as names of authors, hospitals, medical schools, clinics, or cities may be listed with the TITLE or abstract text, as a “blind” review process will be used as per any Journal publication guidelines if applicable. You will be asked to enter the name(s) of author(s) and their institution(s), when you submit your abstract online whilst completing the Abstract FORM.

9. Statements such as “results will be discussed” or “data will be presented” cannot be accepted.

10. Use of brand names for all references to products or companies, generic names must be used. The brand name can be inserted as a reference at the bottom of the abstract page. Papers containing brand names/company names in the abstract text (i.e. not in a reference at the bottom of the page) may be rejected for this reason only. Scientific committee reserves the right to replace any brand name with a generic name without further notice.

11. Images that are uploaded to follow the abstract are not guaranteed inclusion in the congress materials.

12. There are no limitations on the number of abstracts an individual can submit, however a maximum of 2 abstracts for an Oral & a Poster category for the same author can be accepted.

1. Please verify that your email address (submitter and presenting author) is correct as it will be used for contacting you after the review process.

2. Disclosure : Abstract submitter and presenter are required to disclose any conflict of interest

3. Ensure that all co-authors approve the abstract submission for potential presentation during the congress.

4. There will be only 1 individual presenting the abstract paper (author or co-author) who may be the submitter or the presenter. Hence 1 complementary registration is allowed per abstract accepted to attend and present during the conference.

5. Any submitter/author/Co- Authors of the abstracts interested in attending the conference should register themselves to attend the conference.

6. Scientific committee reserves the right to exclude any abstract from the scientific program that does not follow appropriate guidelines as mentioned.

7. Accepted Abstract Presenters attending the conference shall be responsible to bear own travel and accommodation expenses. The conference does not provide or sponsor any financial grants for participation in the conference.

8. An Oral Abstract submission when not accepted for Oral Presentation is provided the opportunity to present it as a Poster at the discretion of the Author. The author may accept or withdraw from the Poster presentation if not interested and should accordingly send the written notification of withdrawal within the given timelines.

9. The Presenter should confirm to present or withdraw all abstracts or part abstract through a written notification.

10. All presenters should notify any withdrawal in writing within 10 days from Acceptance Notification mailer date. The withdrawal of abstracts notification to be send in writing to the congress secretary: [email protected]

11. Presenters do not have any right to replace their abstract after their Abstracts are confirmed through Acceptance notification. Any such abstracts found during an onsite presentation shall not be considered for any award category.
